Improving Throughput in Real-time Simulation of High Speed Tcp Protocols

Round Trip Time (RTT) estimation is an important variable for efficient fairness bandwidth flows of different RTT. This paper propose a stabilized rate scheme to enhance the RTT fairness on high speed Transmission Control Protocols (TCP) namely BIC-TCP, FAST, H-TCP and LTCP. The rate of window growth is stabilized in high speed protocols from the current window size, such that competing flows adjust their window size. The conditions for parallel RTT’s samples are derived to eliminate the RTT fairness problems in high speed protocols. We then investigate the impact of RTT fairness and benefits of using stabilized rate scheme on high speed protocols BIC-TCP, FAST, H-TCP and LTCP. The results indicate under varying levels of loss synchronization, stabilized rate scheme in high speed protocols provides RTT fairness better than standard TCP. Our results also indicate that even small degradation of RTT fairness can severely impair the throughput performance of high speed protocols.
